in sport?
World Championship Gold 4x100m medley relay. 3 Gold Medals
2006 Commonwealth Games. World record 4x100m medley relay,
Commonwealth Record 50m Backstroke, Australian Record 100m
Backstroke. NSWIS Female Athlete of the Year 2006, NSW
Swimmer of the Year 2005-06.
What are your future sporting goals?
To compete successfully at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
What has gaining an educational scholarship with FIA
meant to you?
It has given me the opportunity to study from home and
around my busy training and racing schedule. I have been
lucky enough to study what I love and it is helping me
prepare myself for life after my sport.
What courses have you completed with FIA
so far?
Certificate III in Fitness, (hoping to go on to do Certificate
4)
Why did you want to complete this type of study and how
do you think you will use it?
I wanted to study Fitness as I have loved sport and keeping
fit my whole life, I know how great it can feel to be fit
and healthy and I wanted to be able to help others achieve
the same feeling. I also wanted to learn more about my
own training.
Other than swimming and completing the FIA
scholarship are you also engaged in other work or study?
I have my own Small Business called ‘FAB SWIMWEAR’
which I started after meeting Fabiola Molina, a Brazilian
Olympic swimmer, who designs her own suits. I know import
and sell them exclusively in Australia. www.fabswimwear.com.au
I am also doing my solo Sky Diving Course at BYRON BAY
SKY DIVE so at the end of it I will be able to Jump any
where around the World SOLO!! Woohoo what a view!
What are your career goals after sport?
To be a successful business woman, I would like to grow
my swimwear business and look at starting a new one! Hopefully
in Fitness!
