What year did you begin your NSWIS scholarship? 1996
What is your most significant achievement
in sport?
I definitely have more than one. My 4-year career at College
in the States was a major highlight as was my debut for the
Aussie Spirit Softball team in 2001. The 2002 and 2006 World
Series were also significant achievement.
What are your future sporting goals?
To play in the 2008 Olympic Games in China, Beijing.
Who has most influenced your sporting
career, and why?
I think I would definitely have to say that my father has
been the most influential person in my career. My parents
introduced me to the sport when I was 4 as they both played
and coached at Representative levels. Dad is still involved
in coaching at NSW, NSWIS and Australian levels. He has given
me opportunities of meeting other players and coaches that
have also influenced my sporting career.
What has gaining an educational scholarship
with FIA meant to you?
It has given me the opportunity to gain further education
and qualifications through such a reputable and highly sort
after learning centre for the fitness industry. It was a great
experience; the staff, teachers and the classmates that I
have met will definitely be a part of my life from now on.
What courses have you completed with
FIA so far?
I am in the process of taking my exam and finishing my assessment
booklet for Cert III.
Why did you want to complete this type
of study and how do you think you will use it?
I wanted to complete this type of study to be qualified to
work in the industry and gain a deeper understanding of the
practical knowledge/experiences that I have already gained
from being an elite athlete.
Other than the FIA scholarship and being
a softball player are you engaged in other work or study?
Yes, I work full time for Travcour (the travel industry support
services division of Toll Priority) I am an Account/Client
Manager.
What are your career goals after sport?
My career goals after sport include furthering my studies
and qualifications already gained through FIA and working
in the fitness industry full time.
