Name: Andrew Lauterstein
Sport: Swimming
Scholarship holder: NSWIS
What year did you begin your NSWIS scholarship? 2009
What is your most significant achievement in sport?
Bronze Medal 100m Butterfly at Beijing Olympics
What are your future sporting goals?
Continue to compete internationally at the highest level. This includes the Pan Pacific Championships and Commonwealth Games in 2010.
What has gaining an educational scholarship with FIA meant to you?
It has allowed me to realise the passion that I have for the Fitness Industry.
What courses have you completed with FIA so far?
I have completed Certificate III in Fitness and am currently completing the Certificate IV in Fitness.
Why did you want to complete this type of study and how
do you think you will use it?
Being able to do the study via online learning has allowed me to continue training and racing at the highest level.
While still competing I plan to use the study to further improve my personal performances and to also help the other athletes around me.
Other than swimming and completing the FIA
scholarship are you also engaged in other work or study?
At the moment my training and racing commitments does not really allow for it.
What are your career goals after sport?
Remaining involved in sport and fitness in one way or another.
At the moment I am not too sure which direction I would like to take, but whatever it is I will be taking it on full steam ahead.
