WHO SHOULD ENROL?

The Personal Trainer course can be completed by anyone who has (or is completing concurrently) their Certificate III in Fitness (or equivalent), is a registered instructor/trainer and is looking to expand their knowledge and skills in the fitness industry.

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE

All students receive a comprehensive online textbook for each of the four core subjects in the course and associated online support materials, including access to our world class student online tools for the duration of the course (see the student online area for more information) plus a Professional Practice Manuals, for completion in the workplace.


You are also eligible for registration and insurance with Fitness Australia as a Personal Trainer and are able to gain advanced standing into various advanced educational courses conducted by FIA. e.g. Cert III Sports Trainer, Diploma of Fitness, Certificate IV in Massage Therapy and Practice and/or the Diploma of Remedial Massage.

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN

Advanced standing into various further educational courses conducted by FIA. i.e Diploma of Fitness, a Certificate of Attainments in each of the subjects completed, CECs and eligibility for registration and insurance with Fitness Australia as a Personal Trainer.

HOW AM I ASSESSED?


Students will complete a variety of flexible assessments both formal and informal and various workplace activities.

For example:
• Tutorials online (a variety of tutorial assessments at student online)
• Formal (multiple choice) Exams completed at student online
• Completion of the subject Professional Practice - case studies (in the workplace)
• Completion of the subject Professional Practice - internship (in the workplace)

HOW YOU CAN LEARN:


The Personal Trainer course is offered as flexible delivery and can be completed as either a campus based full time or part time intensive in combination with some distance online learning or as a complete distance online learning experience with options for campus based practical workshops. All students complete a professional practice manual (workplace training), as part of their course.

Campus based (CB)

Full Time
9.30 – 3pm Monday & Tuesday for 5 weeks + professional practice, workplace training and tutorials online. Offered 4 times per year. Campus based (CB)

Part Time
6 – 8pm Monday , Tuesday & Wednesday Night for 5 weeks plus 1 weekend (Sat.) of campus based practical workshops (9-4pm). + Professional Practice, workplace training and tutorials online. Offered 2 times per year.

Distance Online Learning (DoL)*

Start anytime.
Start upon enrolment. Complete your course via our world class online tools, optional campus based practical workshops and some workplace training and assessments. Both CB & DoL methods include significant workplace training and online assessments.

WHEN CAN I GAIN EMPLOYMENT?


On completion of all assessments students will be eligible to gain registration and insurance from Fitness Australia as a Personal Trainer and work anywhere in Australia.

Please Note: CB & DoL students have a maximum of 12 months to complete this course, including all campus based lectures if CB and any workplace training and assessments online (see the full terms and conditions of enrolment on the course enrolment form).
